Common questions

How long until predictions are accurate?

PowerGlass learns your hourly drain pattern as you wear the watch. Give it a few days of normal use — you can track coverage and learning progress on Page 2. The more hours of the day it has observed, the better the prediction.

Why do predictions seem stale or the complication isn't updating?

PowerGlass depends on watchOS background app refresh. Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled for PowerGlass in the Watch app settings, and keep a PowerGlass complication on your active watch face — watchOS gives apps with a visible complication far more frequent refresh opportunities.

Why does the app ask me to open it in Low Power Mode?

In Low Power Mode, watchOS heavily restricts background refresh, so PowerGlass can't sample the battery on its own. Opening the app periodically while in this mode keeps the Low Power learning model accurate.

What do Steady, Balanced and Responsive mean?

They control the learning speed — how quickly new days are averaged into your model. Steady remembers roughly two weeks, Balanced about a week, and Responsive about half a week. Balanced is the default and right for most people; pick Responsive if your routine just changed and you want the model to catch up faster.

Why are there separate Standard and Low Power models?

Drain rates in the two modes are very different, so PowerGlass learns them separately. Tell the app which mode you're in and it predicts from the matching model — switching modes never contaminates the other model's data.

What is the "Charge before" time?

It's the depletion estimate — the day and time your battery is predicted to run out at your learned drain rate, so you know when you'll next need the charger.

Can I start the learning over?

Yes. Settings → Reset All Data wipes the learned model and starts fresh. Useful if you picked the wrong watch model during setup or your usage has completely changed.
